If you are on our C&MA Health Plan, please enroll your newborn baby or new adopted child within 30 days of birth or adoption. Late enrollment results in a 6-month waiting period before coverage will begin, and leaves parents responsible to pay for well baby visits or any illness throughout those months. 
 
If you know someone who is expecting a child, please remind them to call the Office of Employee Benefits to request a form. It’s very easy to enroll your child and simply needs a completed enrollment form faxed or mailed to us within 30 days of birth. 
 
By the way, the same 30-day rule also applies to other life events such as a new marriage, change of employment, or involuntary loss of other coverage.
